Does anyone in Seattle know where I can get my engine rebuilt for a decent price?

I'm from up north and I have a D16Z6 that needs to get rebuilt. I got quoted from a friend's friend that it would be $2000 to get it done at his shop including getting it machined and balanced. Supposedly that's with "hook ups" too. I do want to have a true, full rebuild and was wondering if that's a fair price. A couple people have told me that I could probably get it done for $1500 or lower. I'm looking for something reliable and low miles with a warranty. I've looked at used motors and the only cheap good one I found was $1200 but the same guy told me that swapping motors would run me about $900 so that would pretty much be the same price as rebuilding it. I don't really want to buy a cheap used one off craigslist because you don't know how good those motors really are.

Didn't mean to say so much but if anyone knows any certified shops that would do it cheaper, please let me know.

You get what you pay for.

From the sound of it the shop would be doing all the labor of pulling the motor, re-building it and re-installing it as well? If this is true then 2000 is a very reasonable price imo.
