Default avoid being scammed when buying parts on CL and here.

just a few things everyone should follow when buying parts
i got burned few times as well, ONLY because i didnt follow this. and looked them over quick without checking important areas, altough the guy should have mentioned parts were broken he didnt.

dont trust anyone's word even when they have good name( people change, and sometimes they are in a tough spot and trying to make quick money the wrong way)

DO YOUR RESEARCH.
if you dont know what you dealing with then its easy to get punked.
research and know exactly what you about to buy and as much info about it as you can.

BRING A RIEND that knows what to look for
if you dont know **** about cars dont blame someone who sold you busted part(not the right way but thats how the game is) people have no pride for themselves or what they do and will do anything for a quick buck...

MEET DURING DAYTIME
dont look at the parts or cars when its dark outside or when its raining, you will miss alot of important details.

CHECK vin tags and serial numbers etc
run them online no numbers DONT buy.

GET SELLERS info
get as much info from seller as you can
preferably his home address

also try to GET written statement from seller stating that the part in the condition he described and if anything is broken he mentioned it in writing.

i think if we start doing the last piece it will make more people honest, even forcefully honest.

but if you re honest in the first place then writing a quick statement shouldnt be a problem for you.

im a pretty honest guy, i tell **** how it is... but something someone said to me really shows people just need to think sometimes. not everyone is honest.

NEVER trust someone who stands to profit from you.

always check your **** over. make sure its legit, etc...

Also do research on whatever you are buying so you dont get burnt. If you buy "replica parts" for "non replica prices" its half your fault. And dont always assume the seller even know what the **** they are talking about, half of them dont.

Definitely a good write up.

It's safe to assume that the seller is a crook so buyers can stay on high alert.

not to mention that a lot of times, people buy parts on CL than resale them stating what the person before stated. So they may not be the original purchaser of it brand new, and are going off of what someone else said. Alot get's lost in the pipeline from owner to owner.

I agree to everything
and remember just never trust a stranger, no matter how "cool" they seem to be
