FS: 1997 Honda Civic HX 5 speed 232k (Santa Clara) $1700
Hi Folks,
Time to sell my daily driver. Replaced it with a new daily. $1700 OBO. 1997 Honda Civic HX, silver, 5 speed, original engine and tranny (clutch was replaced once). No mods. Car is in Santa Clara on the edge of San Jose and Cupertino. I am available to show it to folks on weekdays during biz hours only. VIN is in the attached carfax (or zoom in on the pic of the windshield)
I stopped driving this in Nov, a friend borrowed as he crashed his car. It was recently smogged and registered, so reg is good until Mar 2018, smog is good until Mar 2019 (assuming someone buys it before the 90 days are up). I bought the car 10 years ago (2007) and it have put ~100k on it in that time.
The good:
Passed smog, still gets 42 MPG at 65MPH, power locks, windows work, after market radio, drives well.
The needs:
It will need a clutch/timing belt soon, it has an after market sunroof that never worked. I ripped it out and put a factory headliner in, but the brackets for the dome lights were removed, so you there's nothing to attach the lights to. Like most hondas this age, burns a little oil (about a qt every 500-600 miles or so). Probably needs a half shaft (last time I took off the wheels, there was grease from the boot around).
I ran the carfax shortly after buying it 10 years ago, it is also attached here.
Thanks,
mohater
