Default Road Trip

To start this off... Me and a buddy (with and EG) are doing a road trip up to california.... We live in Lake Elsinore California (socal) and we were thinking of going up to Yosemite and staying up ther for a few nights and hit up some of those brutal roads... an take some bad *** picks of our rides up ther... after that we were thinking of heading up to the bay area like San Fransisco... staying ther for a few nights and then heading down PCH and hit up all those citys... on our way back down...
The main reason why im writing this is to get some feed back.... and to see if we can get any post from people in those areas so they can let us know of good places to stay or bad *** roads to drive on... places to eat... and even good places to take photos of our cars... so help me out pleace your comments would be appreciated thanks -JUAN-

P.s we are even down to hit up some of your guys honda meets is you guys have any during those weeks that we do this...

Well what dates are you guys looking to roadtrip?

Highway 9 and 84 connecting to Skyline (35) are both great roads on weekdays if you want to go fast. Located south of Palo Alto and north of Santa Cruz.

There is a meet/cruz/bbq from Palo Alto Ca to the San Gregorio Beach using 84. Sunday Dec 6. you guys should cruz up to the bay that weekend. check out the thread

All the roads up here are bad. The state is too poor to fix them.

^^ no ppl just like to complain. our california roads are better than most all other states in the country. you just have to find the right portion of the roads you choose and the correct weather/time of year, adjust your sus. accordingly etc. etc.

There are nice roads.

April's not bad. Spring time, beautiful scenery... *no homo*

Looks fun. However, most guys would rather intercept you, than go down to the most center part of California for NorCal and SoCal people to meet halfway for a drive to Yosemite.

You have 4 months to plan this out though. Good luck!

I would... if my car looked pretty enough, LOL.

Just wondering though, is this limited to just Hondas, or can there be other cars if they were willing to do a cruise?

I would recommend taking the 395 North to Yosemite. Then you would see Mammoth Mountains, June Lake, and Mono Lake. The only thing is it's three hours longer than taking 99 -> 41. After your stay in Yosemite, you can take 120 -> 205-> 580 -> 84/Niles Canyon Road until you reach Fremont or take 140 -> 5 -> Del Puerto Canyon Road -> 130/San Antonio Valley Road -> 130/Mt. Hamilton Road -> Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA. I would take the second route because it would be fun and you would be near Santa Cruz when you reach San Jose. If you decided to eat in San Jose, I would try out Henry's Hi-life(they have been there for a 100 years now.) and get their spare ribs(Best spare ribs I ever had) or Iguana Taqueria and get their Burritozilla with al pastor meat. When you reach Santa Clara you can eat at Pizza My Heart, Gayle's Bakery, or Hula's Island Grill. After you visit Santa Cruz you can ride Highway 1 all the way to San Francisco. You should try at least these restaurants in San Francisco: Ike's Place and get their kryptonite aka Doomsday, Chutney and get their Garlic Naan, Chicken kabab or tandoori, lamb boti, chicken korma curry, pretty much anything is good there, and go to Taqueria La Cumbre. Best burrito I ever had was at that restaurant and they have been there sicne 1960.

^^ Jesus Christ, I live in Santa Clara, and I haven't heard of Gayle's Bakery or Hula's Island Grill. LOL. Someone is an avid eater.

In any case, whatever EGfosho just said, sounds like it would be a nice costly, albeit its costs and consumption of gas, haha.

Lol. Well, when you stop eating fast food all together, you find a lot of good restaurants. He drives a Honda, what gas consumption? If you are going to do it, do it right.

Regardless of driving a Honda, it's still going to cost gas to cover that much ground.

Well, it is hard to say... You are planning to go until April. I might be in Europe around that time.
