Insurance on 1999 Civic Si for 16 year old in California?

Holy ****. I got a 1999 Civic Si in electron blue last week but seeing what some people pay for insurance is scaring the hell out of me. I'm 16 and a half and am getting my license in 12 days. How much do you guys estimate will be my insurance? The cheapest one, liability I believe its called? Anything I can do to lower the costs? I got good grades if it matters at all.

16 and a half
Live in Modesto,CA(2nd for car theft in country)
Have good grades

Have it under your parents name at least until you had you license for a while with no accidents or speeding ticket cuz they will bite you in the a** in the long run

Agree with above. I'm 19 and I'm not a primary driver on my parents insurance plan. They insure the car, but not me. Rates are pretty low for us.
98 civic LX sedan in green.

I am Also 19 i have Infinity insurance . My fsather is the primary on the insurance plan
for two cars just liability we pay i think 110 or 100 It's 60 for me 40+ for my father

I suggest you get insurance with your parents because if you do it alone they wanted a 120 deposit plus it would be 80 a month just for me i drive a 92 civic hatchba they

also ask how to get cheaper rates my dad got a 20 doller discount of the insurance cuz
automatically take it from his bank account

you already have 3 things against you

1. you're 16 and dont even have a license yet
2. you have probably the most stolen car in the country
3. your city ranks 2nd in the country in stolen cars

make sure the insurance company gives you a reach around when they're ass raping you

Pay for it one year or six month at one time will give you a good discount .

its better off going with your parents. when i was 18-19 i was paying $240/month for a 00' GSR full coverage and under my own insurance plan.

Yea I guess that's what I'm gonna do. Will I still be building a record for myself later on? I wonder how expensive full coverage will be...

Well I got the insurance.
I chose to get liability for now $105 a month
Full Coverage was $285 a month!!!
Hell I'm gonna go look into a bad ass alarm and locks for steering wheel and clutch. You guys know any good ones? lol What else can I add that's not too costly? Kill switch worth it? How much am I looking at?

BTW got a $37 monthly discount for grades, hella worth it

Just garage it and never let it out of your sight.

Don't skimp out on comprehensive, its better to spend your $$ for that coverage than spending it on all sorts of kill switches or high end alarms. Just get liability+comprehensive so when your car gets stolen (which I'm pretty sure it will) insurance will at least cover your @ss and you won't be out a few thousand dollars, thats not to say that you shouldn't get both. If you can afford the comprehensive insurance+high end alarm, then do it!
