Fellow HT Members: Help Me Pic My Exhaust Setup!
Okay, so for a little background on the setup...
1989 CRX Si
SOHC ZC (compression readings of 200, 195, 195, 195)
LSD Transmission
JRSC High Boost Kit 10psi
JG Bored TB
Ghetto Fabbed short ram intake
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Kamikaze header with 2.5" collector
2.36" exhaust piping, stock cat, resonator, high flow muffler
I am dealing with a couple exhaust leaks and since I have always wanted a true 2.5" exhaust setup, I figured, what the hell and decided to change this exhaust setup.
Here is what I have in mind:
Retain the Kamikaze header with the true 2.5" collector
2.5" test pipe to at least one 2.5" high flow resonators
Then 2.5" piping to a high flow 2.5" in/out muffler. Something like a Vibrant or equivalent would be ideal. I do not want something too raspy. I can deal with the loudness, but I do not want an exhaust that sounds like a pack of pissed off bee's are after you!
Can anyone make any recommendations to changes they see fit? What are the best high flow 2.5" in/out mufflers for use on the CRX chassis?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for an exhaust shop in the Dublin/Pleasanton/Livermore area?
Please let me know,
-Jason

GReddy Exhaust SP2 2.5 inch piping i had the setup on my old crx best setup Ive had had 2 others but they weren't 50 state legal. you can order the setup from any greddy retail site etc.. and have a shop in your area install it.

your dumb. cat backs dont need carb numbers or any approval number. The only reason you would get pulled over is if there loud .. and thats your own dam fault. how do i know im going to school to get my smog license plus I know alot of legit smog techs. but with all that said some cat backs do have carb numbers. but it is not necessary since the cat is the last emission control device. go look at BAR

My only requirements are for the setup to be on the quite side when just cruising/idle and I do not want some huge fart can sticking out the back. Infact, whatever muffler I end up with will probably be painted flat black.
