Default NJ - FS: 2000 Civic LX 5 speed

Location: Sicklerville, NJ (zip 08081)
VIN: 1HGEJ6575YL059052
So, the background is that I was planning on getting a new car in late 2016. However, when my daily driver broke down in March 2016, I wasn't ready for the new car yet, and thus picked up this Civic.

I drove it to work every day until September, when the new car replaced it. Now it's an occasional weekend car.
  • 5 speed
  • 133,000 miles
  • AC works well
  • Power steering and brakes
  • Power windows, mirrors, and locks, all working correctly, as is the cruise control
  • Original factory AM/FM radio (nope, not even a tape deck or CD player)
  • Previous owner put in a new exhaust system in late 2015. My guesstimate is that there's less than 10k miles on it
  • Previous owner put new timing belt in at 95k miles.
  • New set of Hankook Optimo H727 tires put on in May 2016, at 129k miles.
  • New throttle position sensor put on by previous owner when I bought the car (late March 2016)
  • If you're in NJ, the inspection is good until November 2017.
Interior is in pretty good shape, but has some flaws. Runs fantastically, doesn't smoke or leak. I was commuting to work with about 80% highway driving, and this thing averaged me between 35-39 MPG. It has never let me down.

The downsides:
  • Typical shifter looseness/wobble horizontally
  • Interior rear-view mirror moves a little too easily, despite my adjustment. Makes it awkward to use the day/night flip lever
  • Small spot of rust on right fender (surface rust, about size of pinky fingernail)
  • Some scuffing of front bumper
  • Rear driver door - rubber seal on the body of the car slightly separated
  • Sometimes in cold weather, you need someone to be lifting the hood a little while you pull the hood release
  • Currently throwing code P1457
Given that code, and other experiences a friend had with that same code, I strongly suspect the vapor canister purge valve. I started to follow the diagnostic steps to try and be sure, and narrow it down, but then my back basically said "Hahaha NO!!" I've cleared it out before, but, not surprisingly, it comes back in a few hundred miles.

Looking for $2,500. Any questions, etc., let me know.

Yikes! And I thought I was slightly under-valuing based on what I'd seen locally.

On the other hand, if I find myself in the market for a used Honda again, you're my shopping consultant!
