Tranny Rebuild advice... NJ area?
Anyone know of an honest shop or person in the NJ area that could rebuild my JDM Y1 LSD Cable Tranny? I'm willing to take a drive if it's worth it. Whats a typical rebuild go for (parts/labor)?
Can't be sure what's wrong w/o opening it of course but I have the typical 3rd gear grind (synchro? - which I could live with), but it's a NIGHTMARE to get into 1st or downshift from 3rd to 2nd (shift fork?). So no autocross until i get this bit@h fixed. At least 4th/5th/reverse are flawless! haha
While we're on the topic, how do i get parts for this JDM tranny since it wasnt sold in the US? Aftermarket? Is there performance gears (treated/cryo/etc) available?
Any input on where I should start looking is appreciated.
