STOLEN Honda CRX SiR (Philly area)
Last night my friend's CRX SiR was stolen from the street in front of his house near Manyunk (Philadelphia). This is a real right hand drive, glass roof, Japanese model, SiR. The car is red, and has some damage to the front where somebody backed into it. Specifically the left headlight is broken, and the hood is dented. Based on the debris they found in the street, one of the door handles is broken as well. I'm attaching two pictures....
If you see anything that remotely resembles this description, especially anywhere in the Northeast, please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks!!!

Why would someone steal this? The car and it's stock part stick out like a sore thumb.
I'm sure if you check your local Craigslist you'll get a hit.

Re: STOLEN Honda CRX SiR (Philly area)
"In September 1989 Honda also added the 1595 cc B16A VTEC engine to the lineup outside of America. The VTEC engine used Variable Valve Timing and Lift to provide increased power in the high rev range, while still allowing low fuel consumption and better idling at low RPMs. The B16A produced 150 bhp (112 kW; 152 PS) in the European 1.6i-VT model (where the engine bore the designation B16A1) and 157 bhp (117 kW; 159 PS) in the JDM SiR model. The CR-X was the second car to receive a VTEC engine, shortly after the Integra, although the CR-X was more popular and common.
The VTEC-equipped models also received a makeover, with updated bumpers, lights, bonnet/hood, brakes, suspension and dashboard design amongst other things. Additionally, some of these design changes were added to the concurrent non-VTEC models.
One of the options for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) CR-X was a glass roof, a fixed glass panel which stretched from the top of the windshield to the top of the hatch opening. Relatively common in Japan, these are sought-after models in other markets."

I hope people do keep an eye out for it, but man I Wouldn't be surprised if it is in a garage right now having all the parts taken off of it, or getting a paint job and replacing the vin number on it with another CRX.

As for security, I don't think he had an alarm... he just locked it at night. His other CRX (which is just an Si with an engine swap) was in the garage because he was working on it.
So I won't get in trouble with the mods if I put this into a third forum?!? I thought two was pushing my luck....

Here is the full information on the car....
http://www.flickr.com/photos/2661469...7625608322716/
Stolen between the evening of 12/14 and the morning of 12/15 was my 1990 RHD Honda CRX SIR. JDM model all original 10 digit vin#EF81101045, in factory Torino Red Metallic Pearl (Maroon) with Glass Top, all stock, 15" honda accessory wheels (not shown in pics). Original drive-train in car is a B16A1 with Y1 trans with LSD engraved in trans plate between (engine and trans). Car indicates in KHM and had 114,### on the odometer. JDM cars do not have a vin number under the windshield, or on dash like USDM cars. The vin number is on the right door jamb sticker, a blue vin plate on radiator support behind left headlight and the firewall of the engine compartment. Car was wearing an April 2011 inspection, PA plate #HPA6944 with current registration stickers until for either Aug or Sept 2011. There is moderate damage to hood and front left headlight as it was damaged in a traffic accident. Car was stolen from my Roxboro home in Philadelphia PA 19128, borderlining Manayunk. Neither are known for grand theft auto. Car was last seen by me last night at 9:30 PM where it was parked and noted missing at 7:30 AM this morning and police called. Note pics of property attached, car was parked beside my jeep.
Details of theft are that the car was parked in a private parking space owned by me behind my house next to my jeep (note pic). Car was locked, and battery was removed as it was being charged. Car was also leaking and low on coolant from the accident as there was damage to the radiator. Car had a pioneer avic touchscreen navigation system in the dash, although no other attractive items inside interior.
Car appears have to been broken into on the right side as noted by 2 tiny remaining pieces of maroon door handle on ground on right side where it was last parked. As the car did not have keys or battery, it was either towed, or pushed or drug away from property, all of which seem more the challenge by the fact the car was missing a battery. I am not sure how hard it is to disable the steering lock on these vehicles. Battery replacement would have been also more challenging because the battery posts on a JDM battery are smaller, unless new cables would have been bought in advance, or cut and replaced with a donor USDM battery in the heat of the job. Parking place was well lit with motion lights and dogs in neighborhood including mine which did not alert anyone. Car seems to have been lifted quietly and quickly. There is a grade to lot such that the car could have been forced open and rolled down a common parking lot and further down the street to have been worked on under better cover, although the street is rather busy.
Police have been notified and have checked with Philadelphia towing to see if the car was reported for being towed, or if submitted as abandoned and towed. I have checked several local tow shops in roxboro to see if they have the car.
CAR IS STILL MISSING WITH NO INFORMATION. If anyone has any information, please call Patrick @ 215-630-7052 immediately. Please forward this message and post to any forums as you see fit. Quick sales on this car would be the b16 motor, ys lsd trans, honda 15 wheels, pioneer AVIC X920BT, JDM leather seats, rear seat, spoiler and hatch, doors with power windows and JDM door cards, JDM cluster reading 114,### KHM, as well as power folding mirrors too. At some point the glass top would be out there once the car is cut up, look for glass top sunvisors, map lights, and maroon glass top frame and bronze glass too. Please look for any weird combination of these items for sale out there.
REWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,

Re: STOLEN Honda CRX SiR (Philly area)
if the parts were being sold on craigslist, chances are you would be able to find them easily...just go to the auto parts section and do a search for "jdm".
statistics show that 90% of civic parts sellers label their garbage as "jdm" in southern california which makes browsing the site a pain in the *** but for someone like you it could be beneficial to finding your parts.

Thanks for the efforts guys. As you would expect, my friend is *REALLY* upset about it being gone. It's a very cool car, as I'm sure you all appreciate....

Matt, thanks so much for your help buddy. I know you've been there too and it gives me peace to have as much help as my network of friends have offered. I've been getting calls from shop owners offering to help keep an eye out for the car and parts.
Thieves deserve to be *** raped in jail.

I just saw this. Sadly no pictures though, but a possible lead?
Also, been searching ebay with the postal code of Philli, or one close to it with a 50 mile radius and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-91...mZ180597142556
But I highly doubt it's a part of your car because I searched his other items and nothing matches to what you had.
