//2001 KX 250 Supermoto + Dirt Setup//
Name: Mike
Location: Richmond, VA
Means of contact: Post or P.M.
Price: $2500
Trades: Sure, pitbike + cash
Test rides? NOT w/o cash and/or trade in hand
The time has come to sell my trusty KX. I always dreamed of riding dirt bikes as a kid. 30 years later I finally bought one. I picked this up to ride some trails and have some fun on track(asphalt). It has definitley served me well. I mainly rode trails with it and did one VIR Karting track day. I serviced the forks recently and softened the valving to a KX 125 valve stack and replaced the oil. It left me stranded in the woods once from a reed valve petal failure. Took a while to diagnose the problem so I replaced the coil with a new oem one, cleaned the carb, and checked compression (185psi cold). Finally figured it out and replaced the V-Force reed cage with a V-Force 3 cage and it fired right up. Trans fluid changed with Bel-ray and air filters exchanged every couple rides. Bel-Ray H1R synthetic was the only pre-mix I ever ran thru it. Rear end was just gone thru and all linkage bearings were replaced along with the rear wheel bearings. I still have the top shock bearing in a package. New throttle and clutch cables last season. The brake fluid was bled with Motul RB600 and coolant replaced with Engine Ice (non-ethylene-glycol) before I did my track day on it at the end of April. There is a small spares package included with the bike. The supermoto wheelset came from Epic motorsports in Colorado, home of Eddie Sisneros. If you have owned a DRZ400SM you know who he is.
