Spearfish Canyon Cruise 2009
This is the official information thread for 605 Racing's 3rd Annual Spearfish Canyon Cruise.
This cruise is in South Dakota, but there are many of you who are close enough by, it will be a great weekend. We also have 1/8th mile street legals the 18th, the night before the cruise!
The Official Flyer:
Please feel free to post this image or any/all of this info on any other website you are a part of. The more the merrier.
The Official Route:
The Specifics:
Starting Point
We will be starting at the same spot as last year. It is a parking lot at the base of Spearfish Canyon.
Those of you unfamiliar with how to get there can Google Map directions. The official "address" is 158 Spearfish Canyon Rd, Spearfish, SD
Google StreetView FTW
Stopping Points
The only points where we will actually stop will be Boondock's & Pactola.
Those of you who choose to, will have the opportunity to eat at Boondocks. They have a Malt Shop which includes a full restaraunt. For those of you who will have already eaten or will eat afterwards, Boondocks has many other activities to offer: A theme park, Old Time Photos, Antique Cars & Motorcycles, Antiques, etc. There should be plenty to keep you busy while we are there.
We will end the cruise at Pactola Reservoir. There are picnic tables, fishing, hiking, whatever you would like to do. This will give another opportunity for Meet & Greet and BS sessions. Again, if you don't want to stay you can continue on to Rapid City or wherever you would like to go.
The Official Directions:
I know some of you got lost on the Custer State Park Cruise (although I'm not sure how SixGun) I will post turn by turn directions for those of you who will inevitably fall behind. Print them or save them if you so choose.
Also this cruise, I am going to attempt to have some sort of signage at every point we will make a turn or change of road. Details will be posted as we get closer to the date.
According to Google, Official drive time of: 1 Hour (not including time at Boondocks) totaling 52 miles (one way of course)
Accomodations:
I realize some of you will be coming from across the state, or possibly even out of state. I am working on details of a special room rate in the area. For those of you interested please PM or email me for more information.
Please feel free to pm or email me for any other information or any clarification needed about the details of this cruise.
Also, if you have suggestions for this cruise please let me know
This should be plenty of notice for everyone to get time off. I hope we have a good turnout. It should be fun!
