I remember going to metro, I was only like 16-17 at the time, never raced just ran from the cops mostly . That was before I realized a "real strip" is MIR not Garden City Dr. Rode through there a few months ago and noticed they have speed humps where everyone used to race. Made me laugh a bit.

Yea that was back in the day, it is crazy they have the humps there now. metro and v street........

I was up there back when it was in full swing. My car was bone stock except for rims so I never lined up. I still remember stayin up to 3 runnin around the area and hitting top speed to and from it on the highway.

Petro, I was at that same age when I first started going... Actually been out there too many times to count... I seen a lifetimes worth of racing out there... Definitely a site to see compared to the scene in the DC metro area now...

Actually went out there in like 2004 I think it was... They was way after they originally shut it down... Apparently they had removed the speed bumps.. I had just copped a new prelude and just decided to see if anything was jumping... And to my suprise there was no speed bumps and about 30-40 cars was out there... Got some good races in... Came back the very next week and the speed bumps were right back up... LOL

But yea man those were the days.... Prolly never seen 50+ cars line up and race back to back like that anymore...

The old street racing days. I use to run my old car there almost every Friday and Saturday. Try that stuff now they take away your car and licenses.

I'm old (35). I was going there when it was mostly muscle cars. I worked in one of the buildings there (Treetops). Once The Fast and the Furious came out the scene was ruined.

I raced my sooooo fast 88 lxi accord and lost to a v6 maxima. Sad days

The best part of metro was running from the cops! My car was pretty much stock so getting pulled over was easy to get out of.

The crazy part was watching dudes unload TRAILER'D cars to run on the street...LMAO!!! Crazy money going around too...bets were in the thousands.

metro lol mann the stories you guys talk about are stories i hear from my dad...he used to tell me bout a bug that used to be out there and was tearin guys up left and right...wayyy before imports were even popular...mannn i dont think i would even go to d.c. and race nowadays...crooked cops..potholes..and speed cameras just dont work for me...**** running from the police and making that WRONG TURN down the WRONG STREET..yeah...idk man...

i used to go back in the day, used to be fun . cops weren't dicks at the beginning neither, they just cleared everyone out and everyone went their own ways...
