Retrofit using OEM EG headlights?
I've been on theretrofitsource about to order the Mini stage 3 kit.
However, I'm undecided on what headlight housings to use.
I'm pretty fond of the OEM look and fitment.
How would this affect the light output?

User Donut. did a retrofit on the oem jdm lights back in the day (before all of the mini's were available). Looked great imo, no idea how well they worked though. Probably still much better than plug and play or even first gen HID's that still used sealed beam lenses.

Re: Retrofit using OEM EG headlights?
I'd like to know how well they performed.
I know that when doing a retrofit, it's ideal to use a clear (non fluted) lense for the best light
dispersement. But I hate the way it looks.

just use depo headlights and you wont have the fluted glass problem? or depo lenses on the oem housings?

Re: Retrofit using OEM EG headlights?
I'm leaning toward doing the retrofit with my OEM headlights.
It's not like the light output could be any worse than the stock BS I'm dealing with now.

Re: Retrofit using OEM EG headlights?
the cutoff and output isn't going to be as sharp with flute compared to clear. i also am gonna retrofit with oem headlights because i care about the fitment more. but i either plan on buying ebay clear glass headlights and using the lens or get depos, but those have plastic lens. would like to see pictures if you retrofit oem fluted headlights.

Maybe shave out the flutes like this http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...n/viewall.html though I believe usdm headlights are glass, wood need jdm plastic.

I went with denji's. You can find them for 200 bucks new from denji off eBay. Like mentioned the flutes will cause problems but I have heard of people sanding the USDM glass lens smooth...
