illumination wire?

I have a 94cx and I installed a 99-00 civic si cd player. I soldered and heat shrinked wires to the correct connection. Everything works with the cd player except the illumination at night. I've been driving around for months now with radio back light not working and its finally driving me crazy. Both harness are after market from best buy.So can someone tell where is this wire is supposed to connect to.

I found this thread. Apparently its the red/black wire on the stock oem harness. I'll let you guys know if it works.

Did you ever figure out the illumination wire? I just ran in to the same problem. I am installing a Pioneer DEH-p6000 in my 94 accord and it plays just fine, but the display is so dim you can't see it during the day. Is this the same problem you had and if so how did you fix it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't figured out the problem yet actually. I believe I found a thread with a similar problem as yours but it didn't help me out. Let me see if I can find it again for you.
