Default Re: How to Disable Daytime Running Lights in 2016 Accord

This might be an old thread. 16 accords are having DRL issues. At just less than 40k miles one of the DRL light stopped working. A lot of people are having this issue and if you are out of warranty, Honda will not fix this issue for you unless you pay $600. That only will fix one side of the light. If the other one stops working, thats another $600. I went to my car dealership today and they said that im out of warranty and they will not fix this for me for free. So I decided to remove the FUSE for the DRL light and just forget about it until Honda recalls the damn issue. No warning signs on my dash about my DRL, the only issue I am having now is when I lock my car, it doesn't honk anymore. I guess it is part of the DRL light fuse (?). Anyone else tried this?

Hope you had success changing your LED lights. Both of mine went out. Honda offered to cover 80% and dealership offered 10%. I still spent about 120 out the door. Call Honda and ask them about it if you have not. These lights are ridiculously expensive, but necessary in normal night driving. I remember my sales person said, "these are LED lights, they will never go out". So here we are. The parts and labor have a 12 month or 12K mile warranty. If they are so good, they should have lasted 8-10 years. There should be a way to turn them off.
