how to dim down high beam?
so, i replaced my highbeam bulb w/ a 9005 yellow bulb (01 integra) .. its super bright and i'm wondering if there is a way to dim it down a bit.. i was thinking of a resistor, but not sure where exactly it'd go.. any help appreciated

Re: how to dim down high beam?
Sounds like another "I want to run my highbeams at night with less power" thread. Please don't do this. Even with a dimmer bulb, they will be blinding to oncoming traffic, since they allow light up unlike fog lights or lowbeams.
If you really want to do it, the correct procedure is with pulse width modulation, which is what DRLs use. The duty cycle will determine brightness. Aim for 60% during the day, to emulate DRLs. If you insist on running them after dark, please use no more than 30% duty cycle. The cheap way is to run both lamps in series, resulting in 6V across each bulb and reducing output. This reduces the bulb's lifespan but works acceptably for DRLs. If my assumption is incorrect, please forgive it and just take the information provided. |

yea.. its one of those.. lol.. i havent been running them... if i do its on an empty backroad to give more contrast on things |
