Is this what the owner specifically wanted? I guess he or she doesn't know that the light output and cutoff isn't that great on those.

Yup, a show car and he wanted something to stand out, but I tell you what; though. not that great it would blow E55's out the water. It really isn't that bad as ppl make it seem on the internet. have you seen one of these in person? 6 cutoff steps per projector is pretty funky after all.

i gotta post some pics of my retro done by Bjorn and Rich from customlightz....damn those guys are good.
i am 150% satisfied with the final outcome. i will post pics as soon as i can upload them...i might get around to it tonight, but the setup goes like this:
modded tsx projectors
clear lens swap ( which make a world of difference)
matsushita ballasts
phillips 5000k bulbs
stay tuned for some pics of cutoff and of the actual car...

Not worth the effort IMHO. There are only 3 lines and it will not affect light output or cutoff in any way whatsoever.

Though I agree with the former, I have to disagree with the latter.
The horizontal lines does effect the cutoff by a lot. Had you said that it doesn't effect the foreground or thw width I would say "correct", but a color/washer modded TSX doesn't look the same behind the OEM integra lens that's 100% for sure. With a clear lens, you do bring out the cutoff color a lot better, and the cutoff remains sharper. I say sharper, since no matter what the TSX lightoutput will be altered once behind the teggy lenses, and the reason being is the convexness of the headlight lens.
Further, the lines of the oem headlight lens occasionally cause minor glare, since the thick bands; mainly the middle one diffuse the light, where some is scattered upwards, and that's also why you sometimes see light above the cutoff in teggy headlights. It's not glaring to the point where it becomes dangerous to oncomming traffic, but it further disproves the statement that the lines of the headlight lenses doesn't effect the cutoff what so ever.
Hope this helps

Any projector's cutoff is going to be affected when any plastic lens is put in front of it, no matter what.
I would have to see side-by-side comparison with brand new Integra headlight lenses with an HID projector inside, vs. something like what's pictured above, to make me believe that those 3 little lines really make that much difference in the light on a wall that's 20+ feet away, or on the ground at 100+ feet away.

Of course, it's matter of refraciton through a medium. BUT, there is more of a distortion with a headlight lens that is more angled, and more curved towards the bottom than a relatively flat/straight headlight lens.

I completely understand, but that's also why I am responding to your comment that it doesnt make a difference. You responded based on hypothesis, and I am basing it on a fact. Not here to belittle you or your comment, simply sharing my knowledge and experience.
"to make me believe that those 3 little lines really make that much difference"
First off, you said it doesn't make any difference what so ever, I said it does, but never said it it would make "that much of a difference." So you acknolwdge that there is a difference after all? Look I can see this getting silly, and I don't want that at all. Simply put, you feel it doesn't, and I feel that it does. I hope this won't escalate to anything else.
Cheers Patrick

Amazing work as usual but i gotta wonder what customer in their right mind asked for that retro... first thing that came to mind when i saw the pic was "IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE!!!"
but nevertheless, you make that gaudy as projector array fit in their pretty well! If only the projectors themself werent so hideous

got my headlights in the mail and baked them tonight. They're sitting in pieces, waiting to be retro'd. Just waiting on shrouds and actually doing it now

Wow, that looks insane.
PM or emails me more pics of the car, and I"ll keep it spinning on the front page of our car for the ride of the month.
