Default New ballast, headlight now blue

Hey guys,

Last week my passenger side ballast pooped the bed. Since it had no markings on it, I just ordered a 35W set of ballasts to be safe rather than sorry. After installing it, my passenger side light is now blue in the high and low beam (both lights were bright white before). I feel like the obvious answer is that I should have ordered a 55W ballast instead but I wanted to double check here. Is it possible for a lower watt ballast to change the color?

Thanks

50w ballast would typically drop color temp by 1000K due to increased intensity, so yes that may be what you are experiencing once going back to 35w ballast, in your case you have gained approx. 1000K temp from prior setup, so makes sense that your color looks more blue
