EF vs. EF, Halogen vs. HID
just thought i'd share this picture i took tonight of my car 90 si hatch the one with HIDS. and the other is a friend of mine 91 DX with Halogen bulbs. a huge difference!
i did some searching and read alot about people doing the PNP kits from ebay, and its pretty much Six Of One, A Half Dozen Of The Other... some had nothing good to say about them and others loved them. so i took the chance and bought the Hi and Low beams. and i've come to like them. both cars are with High beams on.... any input is welcome http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._6506647_n.jpg |
Re: EF vs. EF, Halogen vs. HID
Looks like they'll be blinding everyone...
I don't understand how a lot of these cars using the PnP HID kits aren't getting more heat from the cops. Some kid in a riced out CRX was riding my ass last night and his bright blue HID's were blinding! That sh*t drives me nuts. |
Re: EF vs. EF, Halogen vs. HID
well that is on High beam, but i haven't had any oncoming cars flicker their lights at me.
i bought the lowest temp bulbs i could (5000k) not blue or purple at all. |
Re: EF vs. EF, Halogen vs. HID
What are we supposed to learn from this photo? That HID's are brighter than halogens? That HID's in a reflector housing produce an incredible amount of glare?
I can always spot an HID reflector set-up even if they're using 4300K bulbs. That's when I throw on my quad high beams (bi-xenon projector + 65w halogen highs). It's funny when they try to flash their highs back at me. The ones with these "bi-xenon" reflectors make almost no noticeable difference when switching from low to high. Then there's the ones with a separate halogen high beam that turn off the HID low beam when they switch. The halogens produce less light in the first place and most of the time the HID's don't come back on when they switch back to the lows, or only one side fires up. :thud: |
