Default LED blinker bulbs very dim

I did a search and could only find threads on LED blinkers causing hyper flashing.

With that being said, I bought some sylvania LED 1157a amber bulbs in hopes that they would illuminate as bright, if not, brighter than the normal bulbs. To my dismay, they were not nearly as bright at all. Did a few searches and was unsuccessful as to why this problem exists or how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated guys. Thanks.

In what car did these 1157's go in? All older generation Honda's didn't really have a reflective backing, it was just silver paint. LED's require a chrome/mirror reflector to create that brightness.
