XTD CLUTCH KIT ON RSX HELP
Some time ago, I changed a flywheel/clutch on a buddy's rsx-s. He chewed through the last one and hair like strings from the last disc were worse than a barber shop.
He bought a whole XTD Kit; my job was just to put it in.
Hit the new flywheel with some 180 grit to make sure it would be a good break in surface. The pressure plate, had ring-like ridges or grooves that went around the entire surface of the pressure plate. I had never seen anything like this before. I thought it was very odd. He now has complaints that something is not right, but the clutch is grabbing good. He would like me to go back in there to check things. I do not want to, but I think i am going to have to.
Is this grooved pressure plate not supposed to be grooved? i thought it was very strange, and maybe a manufacturer defect? or maybe it was supposed to be resurfaced before installed? Can anyone please advise? Ive done plenty of clutches before, but never saw these ridges that go around the entire pressure plate surface.
