Default Need help deciding compression for new build

Im shooting for 320hp+ from my k24 setup but having a hard time deciding on what compression ratio to go with.

i was originally planning on 12.5:1 but have been told by 3 different cam manufactures that my power goal would be achieved with less effort if i go with 13:1+

the car is a street car and will be driven often but not every day. 93octane is available at most gas stations around the city i live in. E85 however isnt exactly down the street. i am willing to carry a 5gallon can of e85 in the car and have 5-10 gallons at home but im wondering if its worth the hassle or will it not be as bad as it seems.

so do i go with 12.5 and not be 100% happy with the power produced but have the convenience of getting gas at any station

or

do i go with higher compression and enjoy more power but have to worry about making it to one of the few oddly placed e85 stations and have to carry extra e85 with me at all times?

if you cannot get e85 easily, just forget about it.

What exactly is your setup? Bore? Is the head stock? Manifold? Getting 320hp+ on a 12.5 compression engine is not going to be easy.

Having said all this, going to 13.1+ from 12.5 is not going to help you either.

Are you you using a big bore like 88 or 89mm ?

Are you using a ported head with good CFM flow?

What cams are you planning on running? How about the manifold?

Good luck

k24 87.5mm
4piston 163 head
ported RSP intake with 74mm tb

i have a damn good tuner

e85 is 8miles from my house but is a bit of a detour, next closest station is 2 miles from my work(20miles from home) but isnt on my way either.

Im wanting to go with the new skunk 2 ultra3's as recommended by david hsu. second choice would be drag cartel 4.5's

Its doable i've know a few people pushing as much as 350 + with small set ups..
you are on the right path with the parts
what i would change would be 88mm bore, the manifold and throttle body to a bigger like ultra or any big center feed with 90mm throttle body. .
use different gas like q16
