I'm not too concerned about wiring it, I was gong to run it off the fuel pump signal wire/relay?. But one glaring question comes up, what happens to the "2nd" rad hose there's 2 ports on the plate/kit one for the PCV and then one to the pump. That's it, i'll be running a SF tucked rad with -16 AN so i'd assume I could just "cap" the 2nd outlet on the rad, and just run 1 rad hose? The 2nd issue is with filler neck, i'm using the ktuned one but there's still the port for the hose that would have ran down to the stat housing do need a special(new filler neck). I guess I can't run a thermostat with this set up either.

i think there is two outlets on water pump, it goes to lower radiator hose.
ktuned website shows the plug for the filler neck on their site

Top hose coming out of the top housing into the top of the radiator. Bottom hose out I the bottom radiator to the pump then to the water plate. Block off any extra ports you're not using. You can run an inline thermostat if you want but I don't see the point unless street car. Even then.....keep it simple.

Thanks, I contacted ktuned, where I got confused is I thought the water pump had just 1 inlet(made no sense). So the other port on the plate is just an extra, if you wanted the hose in that position. Yours is in an RSX right? did you wire it the same way one would wire an aftermarket fuel pump?

The one i'm looking to purchase is the "complete k-series alternator water plate kit for 699.99 USD. it comes with 2 ports, vs the "race" plate one

I personally recommend the tractuff plate like mine. Much better quality and the pump it comes with is way better. The other smaller -8 port is for the pcv. Run it to a catch can or block it off. I have an eg. It will be wired to a relay to a switch panel so I can turn the pump on and off as needed.

This how I would do it as well.

We run the water pump/fans after shutting the car off on our drag cars because it cools the engine off quicker between rounds.

Where are you guys "feeding/drawing" the power from, is there a 8awg from the battery to switch/relay then to the pump? and what rad as you using that has a -12 AN port, SF/RYWIRE all state -16 or 1.25. I have no choice but to run a tucked rad due to the size of the big ktuned manifold+90mm tb/ 3.5'' intercooler piping taking up most of the left side.

I'm having a dedicated relay/fuse panel made. Just need to make sure your wiring and relays can handle it. You can use a -12 to -16 fitting to connect the lines.

I'll see what AWG the wires off the pump are and match it, that's what I figured i'd have to do doesn't seems too bad. You just capped off the hose from the oil cooler right?

I'm using a k24a4 block so it never had those lines. You can delete them.

Why not use the thermostat fan switch to enable it automatically? When the fan turns on it will turn on/off the pump.

you can get the k24 oil filter holder that doesnt use the oil cooler instead of capping off.

My examples are all old school v8 drag cars so I don't have any relevant advice.
I'd be concerned with hot spots further away from the thermostat switch.

I'd prefer to keep it, just cause I have no plans to run an aftermarket cooler. I'll see how hard/much $ it would be to switch over. I'm assuming it's part of the old pcv system, and that "air" is being pushed/sucked through it when hooked up in the stock configuration. Thanks

you would only need this part that holds the oil filter so there is no sandwich plate

Would need a frost plug for the line that runs to the block, don't suppose it's the same number as the heater hose frost plug.

What are people with the Type S oil cooler doing after converting to the electric water pump? The hose that use to go to the OEM pump housing can just be capped off?

Got my kit KWP-TK-304 last Friday, aside from them missing my alternator belt it was easy to install. I'm going to jam a bolt in the hose and shorten it. That's not a "show car" thing to do, but for my car it'll work. The car should run within a month and i'll try to update this. Ktuned them selves said for the power source I can supply it from the battery and use a inline 20a fuse.

Just wanted to say I got this thing all wired up and running, to answer the how do I step up 2 fitting sizes. Ktuned make a -12orb to -16 fitting P/N -16AN-12OR, Ktuned has the BEST customer service I've seen in my time building cars!.

I'm officially done plumbing this thing, for the k20a2, or any K that uses a cooler. We have to give them up, here's the part number for the TSX oil filter holder and the port block from Ktuned.

90015-PH1-013 mine was $6.89 CAD, US would be cheaper

and KTD-OIL-100 is the ktuned part it was 14.99 CAD for me.

All in, i'm very happy I chose this part, and was much easier than I ever thought. So much room freed up, and a 10x cleaner look. Pls note, I haven't driven with it yet so i'll update again.

I'm sure this was covered, but 700$ seems a lot for an electric motor bolted to a basic fluid pump. How many HP is this supposed to free up? I personally wouldnt wanna risk what I consider a near-bulletproof design of the OEM water pump to risk an electric motor dying which could potentially damage the engine via hot and cool spots, not to mention the actual monetary cost. I get parasitic drag cost on a dragster, but I do see an electric starter, which is an electric motor too, and you havent opted to pop-start the car, Does the added weight of the electric motor net a faster 1/4 mile time verse the fractional HP loss from the parasitic drag of a water pump? I mean I'd think a smaller pulley and lower belt tension would do the same thing. That or when you see like the 200+ mph speed civics on the salt flats that do not run alternators or even radiators and just plugin a jug of cold water and can run the engine for 15 minutes.
