K24a4 Piston rings without removing engine
Good day all,
So last night my engine decided to take a poop on me and cylinder 3 (not sure if cyl. 3 but reading left-right 3rd one down) does not fire anymore. Tried new sparks and that temp fix no longer works. My car burns oil ever 300-400 miles so I know the piston ring is shot. I am assuming that this cylinder loss compression last night and will need to have the rings replaced. I was wondering if anyone has tried this or if even possible to replace the rings without removing the engine. Mark the timing chain, take the head off, remove the oil pan, loosen the rods and then turn the crank to push each piston up giving me access to change the rings. Please let me know, any suggestions help!
