k24/20 build help
i recently bought an engine and my supposed set up is a k24a1 block with a k20a2 head but the head has the same rocker assembly as a k24a1 head would have with 2 lobes on the intake cam and 1 on the exhaust but obviously it should have 3 per cylinder on each cam and the proper rocker arms to accommodate. the casting on the head says prb-1 and it has the proper locations for the loss motion assembly on both sides just no loss motion assembly springs are in there so obviously at some point im thinking someone swapped the rocker assemblies maybe to do a vtec elimination considering there was no plug in the cam cap for vtec if anyone has seen or heard of people doing this any insight would be greatly appreciated

Re: k24/20 build help
sounds like they swapped rocker assemblies. From what I gathered from friends, the 3 lobe vtec rockers and single or dual ivtec rockers have different rocker ratios. This means the rockers make up a loss of lift.
To elaborate, ths is what my friend had found. prb head. swapped to ivtec rockers for a killer setup made 300whp. swapped 3lobe vtec rockers with locking pins back in, made 330whp. Please look into k rocker ratios to confirm this for yourself.
