Default K20a3 rebuild

Hey guys I'm new to the site and just started a new project. I just bought a k20a3 off a guy in my area, and have it torn down all except for the crank and internals. Now my question is with the motor only having 100k on it and me not being able to feel ANY sort of wear at the top of the cylinders (no visible scarring either) and no shavings in the pan should I bother pulling the bottom end out, or would it be safe to start building it back up? Mind you this is going to be a mild build for an em2 swap. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I'm kinda in the same boat, I got a k20a2 w/ 168,xxx miles & was debating if I should just throw it in, replace water pump, timing chain maybe some gaskets or rebuild the whole thing...it was working fine when it was pulled out, it's been sitting for a while now though. It sucks that no one has answered you, but I mean if you say it looks good, it should be fine.

Welcome to the site. It's really slow on here and people tend to be jerk offs to new guys. When I purchased a k20a2 it only had 70k miles on it. But I rebuilt it anyway. New piston rings, water pump, timing chain etc. obviously it wasn't necessary, but I wanted to have that peace of mind. Check the bearings as well but that's something that you should use caution with. New bearings need to be broken in and have a high chance of spinning at high revs if not broken in. I know this from experience. Keep in mind K series love to rev lol.
