Ummm try 10kg(22lbs) lighter than a B18C! And the mission is also lighter by I think it was 4 or 5kg(9-11lbs). Definitely the SWAP to do. The B will always be a wonderful engine, but Honda upped their own game with the K.

the immobilizer makes thinks a little bit harder..
Still can be done but it would take time, not easy to steal as the older hondas I would imagine. I can think of scenarios but a message board is not a place to post these.. lol Too many thieves out there in california especially.

Re: (Ross R)
Puh-leeze, who would throw away their B-series. The sale would subsidize over half the parts cost of a K-series swap.

Obviously you're not throwing it away. Ideally, you're selling them and making a nice buck.
But does the originality of the car mean anything to anyone? I guess not.
I'd consider doing it to a Civic, but even then, probably not. I'll just quote Jack Harris again and say that B-series motors should stay with the chassis they fit into (EM1/DC2/EG/EK/EJ/DB/DA) and that the K-motors should stay in the newer cars.

Just a note about the potential of the k20a all motor...
Here's a dyno out of a different K20A R
NOT STOCK
Engine - K20A engine, Crower stage 2 and 3/4 cams, Crower valve springs/titanium retainers, CP forged pistons CR 12.5, Toda head gasket, Crower billet conrods, UR pulley set, P&P, bored throttle body, lightened and balanced crankshaft
Intake and exhaust - Topfuel SRI with customised intake, Hondata intake manifold gasket, Toda race header, customised 2.5" B pipe, mugen muffler
NO need to argue about dyno details, you get an idea what a k20a with cams, pistons and head can do... This is not the work of a professinal shop either...

I would have moved the Civic sized radiator over to the right more so at least the motor could get some clean/cool air going into it.
That hot air intake is going to suck.
Otherwise - nice install

DC2 w/ DC5 soul
First off, the swap looks tight, and lots of props for the creativity. Heres where i stand with this. Swapping a K20a(R) into a DC2(R) for more power is kinda like swapping an H22a-R (prelude type S) into a DC2(R). Yeah, it'll work and output more power, but is it really necessary, or even worth it to possibly throw off the balance of hondas legendary Integra Type R? Just my two pennies...

How could putting a motor that is lighter, and gives the chassis better weight distribution, upset the "balence of honda's legendary ITR"???
for a kickass motor swap
(maybe #386 will get one someday when the B18C5 is all worn out...)

the B18c5 currently sells for $4000, and the complete K20(R) changeover cost roughly $8000. so that means an extra $4000, for an extra 20 ponies. Sure the K20a has more potential for max hp output over the B18c5, but hp only goes so far in any type of racing. ecu, suspension, aerodynamics, etc... plays a huge roll in a teams success. four G's really worth it? im sure the B18c5 will do fine, but i guess if salary allows you too... its your money
