Hondata exchanged by Doctronic experiences
have a Honda Elise racecar with K20 engine, Jenvey-ITB, Endyn ported head, bigger inlet valves, carillo rods, JP-Pistons, dragcartel cams, dailey-drysump, SADEV sequential gearbox, electrical waterpump, lightweight flywhheel, 2 disc AP-clutch, 4-1 custom yoshimura exhaust, Toda chain and tensioner, endyn chain-guide
for 8 years I was using Hondata V2 with AIM interface. Not really bad but some functions missing
- problems in part load when driving on pitlane (fuel cutoffs)
- need extra controller for flatshift/cutoff
- not possible to make ignition cut-off
- no flexible launch control for standing start or rolling start
- sometimes problems with sudden rev-limiter
Now nearly one season with Doctronics ECU :
- nice partload drive because of other programming of fuelcuts etc.
- electrical cutoff because doctronics can read to shift and gear- sensors of my SADEV gearbox (very nice because external controllers made lots of problems)
- individual gearchange cut-off-times
- nice gearchange because of electrical cutoff
- launchcontrol working (wheelspin!)
- no more rev-limiter problem
- only 4hp more top-power
- good support for questions and special functions
- all the rest seem to work the same as Hondata
For me Doctronics solved the few issues I had with Hondata.
In addition it cost me half the price of the Hondata.
I am interested in experiences from others in different free programmable ECUs for K20

Re: Hondata exchanged by Doctronic experiences
Looks like a better option than KPro but I do have to ask, with all of the top dollar parts you have on your race car, why did you not go with a full standalone ECU?

I´m using the Doctronic ProECU-K ECU on my turbo RSX for 2 years now.
I like the feature which allows me to switch between high and low boost
on my Android Smartphone and in future on my installed Nexus Tablet. :D
