California BAR: K24A2 into EG - need help
I am on a quest to BAR a K24A2 into my 1993 Civic EG Hatchback.
I picked up a 2006 TSX that had front end collision for $1000.
The car still drove normally, but the frame was bent, so I know the engine is still working well.
That said, the engine has already been pulled out (along with all piping).
I still have the whole car in the garage.
It is automatic, does this mean the ECU is no good if I plan to use an EP3 transmission?
&
What are key things to keep before I junk the car?
Few things I can name are:
- Dash harness
- Floor harness
- Fuse box
- Evap system
- *Drive by wire?
- *Cluster?
I understand that I will be needing some RSX parts,
but I want to know what else I need from the TSX donor before I junk it.
Anyone who has knowledge of this, please chime in!
Thank you!

K20a.org has an abundance of information on all the questions that you're asking, and more questions you should be asking.
I would highly, highly recommend calling your state BAR office or finding a state representative for that service, and asking them what's needed to pass. Emissions is the obvious hurdle, but there are other legalities that will need to be addressed....
Edit: Read this, specifically the part about engine swaps. Still recommend calling your local offices. https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/replace.htm

I am currently trying to figure out how to post on k20a.org...? I have been trying for several days, and it tells me that I do not have permission.
Verified email already, not sure if I need to reach a certain amount of posts first?

Possibly, can you leave comments? They may require 10 comment posts before the ability to make your own topic. I can't remember, been awhile since I've posted on that site.

You need to find out all the emissions components that are on the TSX and strip those as well.
IIRC there is something about the gas tank, either within or next to it, it'd be wise to swipe the tank just in case.
Anything immobilizer related as well.

The immobilizer I'm not very sure about, I just know that I have the dash harness and I will be getting a 6 speed ECU. You have any idea what else is needed?

Ok, thanks for the input though. I am going to take out the ignition switch off the TSX tomorrow, I believe this is the only way to retain the immobilizer? I wonder how that ignition will be able to change over to the EG steering column...hmmm.

I know the immobilizer can be installed into the EG chassis, there is someone on here who has it. When I get to a computer I'll link you the thread. The thing that sucks is that he bought the car, so he may not have any more info.
