Another cam wear tread, K20a2 with skunk2 Stage 2
the is the 3rd time in 3 years I see it, cam wear
The first 2 times I found the problem, on B series engine and is was on vtec lobes
this time the problem is on a K20a2 witch Skunk2 stage 2 cams and the wear is only on one cam, on one lobe on the non-vtec one
the car was bought by a friend, and this car already have those cams in.
THe valve lash ajustement seem didn't seem to be tighter than the others, I will verify it tonight
does anyone never have this problem?

I have seen that kind of wear with pushrod operated American V8's with high performance cam, and high performance pushrod air cooled VW and Porsche motors.
I have never seen it on any kind of Honda!

Give me a call at 951.808.9888 ext 209 and I will personally make sure you get your camshaft replaced. Even though you are not the original owner of the camshafts I would still like to help you get that thing back on the road.

but I found a lot more about it, on B series there is a very important dowel pin under cam holder #3, when this dowel isn't there the cam don't have anough oil to maintain good lubrification. This was one time a problem I saw.

WOW, that's the first time I've ever seen a pic of this, and it is definitely 
. Hope you find the problem, can't really think of what it would be other than lash (which you said you thought was good), or maybe lack of oil to that area (looked oily to me, but I'm no expert there)?

damn thats crazy it ate its self. what makes me wonder is where did the rest of that cam lobe go in the motor?

whats wrong with crower? they sent me out new cams after i had an issue with them in the past and others as well.....maybe their customer service went to **** after brian left....hmmm

I had exactly the same on a K24 Accord... only on one primary lobe (#4 exh)..... Contacted Skunk, & they replaced the cam set !!!... Roller was fine.....

there are many campany of cams b4 ill even looking into crower, and skunk2 is one of the tops.

maybe is a lack of oil or oil pressure to the head! i forgot what company came out with an system to the #5 cam cap so the head,cams and lma doesnt starve of oil! il try to find out the company's name.
