what kind of 'average' and 'simple' build includes 89mm sleeves and 13.7:1 compression?

Good power, but a little misleading.

Not misleeding at all... STOCK HEAD, BDL 70mm TB, STOCK RBC, mass produced header... 89mm sleeves.... regular wiseco pistons found on the shelf...

Nothing is one of a kind or special on the motor..

I was assuming the reality of 300whp on k24a motors on race gas, has been established.. Nothing to say more about this... It is fairly simple to make this power these days on race gas with the right OEM and aftermarket parts with a stock K series head and a stock OEM manifold.

Ok, youre done with this, thats fine. I understand its a stock head setup, mass produced header, shelf pistons.

But on "AVERAGE" people do not run 13.7:1 compression.

I think you are focusing on the wrong aspect of my thread... but I have personally being involved with at least 5 k24a motors with that same piston and running pump gas is not a problem. There are many factors for this. High compression, dynamic compression, static compression, VTC and ignition timing on kseries and the tuning process in general, makes 13.7:1 fairly easy to run. In simple terms, you tune on race gas, you pull some ignition for pump gas and whenever you hit the track, you load the race gas tune... that seems to work for the motors I have run and sold.. Specifically one of them, has seen around 2 years of 9000 RPM abuse and is still doing fine.

While I do recognize all the hard work and research you have put into the K series universe over the past few years, I just think that spreading the word that 13.7: 1 compression is OK to run on pump gas is just not the smartest thing to do, especially in this forum. You do not have to lecture me on the aspects of dynamic compression and bleeding off compression with late IVC, I am well enough versed in these subjects.

But there is such a thing as free speech, and you have a right to it.

I respectfully thank you for your good etikette. On my personal and present motor, I went with 12.5:1 compression which I agree, is a better option for a mostly street car that is mostly daily driven than raced. I was not trying to lecture you, just making some pointers for people that are reading but not participating in the discussion.

Personally, when I think of a high compression K series motor, I am thinking about 15.8:1 compression. In my opinion, under 14:1 you can get away with pulling timing. Some things just seem to work against all odds... only burn in testing can proove otherwise and it is hard to test in advance for such failures. But you are right, every has a right to their own opinion.... with the help of facts and examples. constructive dialogue can be a good thing

but E85 would love some 13.7 cr.

Awesome. Just to think what a nice direct shot would do.
