New EG owner
Hello famous(infamous?) Honda-Tech members! I've just picked up my first EG hatch. I sold my 86 Si a few days ago and wanted something similar, but easier to find parts for. Ever try to find an FITV for an EW-4? Or how about the vacuum idle control stuff? Or the ECU? Anyway, it was a great little car and I'm somewhat sad to have sold it, but! I now have a CX hatchback 94 edition!
Here's the funny thing, it's fast? Around the same as my Si. It shouldn't be right? 70 hp and 2100 lbs does not equal 90 hp and 2000 pounds! Ah so I did some looking and so far I've determined that the Head has casting number PM3-12, the ECU is P06, and the Block is D15B8. So I think I've got a mix-match of parts and way more than 70 HP?
I've also purchased a new Master/Slave for the clutch as well as every fluid I can think of. BTW, is Mobil One 75w90 good for these trans? It seems bizarre to run 10-30 in a trans, especially with a lack of Zinc/Moly in the oil.

Re: New EG owner
Just got the title, registration and passed emissions, woo!
I can't believe it passed emissions with a fluctuating idle and a CEL on...
CO% .16 .29 1.2
CO2% 14.8 14.7
RPM 0 0 1350
Interesting stuff, no? Seems like it's a pretty clean car? I wonder why they don't test for NOx? I thought our state was more strict lol. Even says on the report I failed the CEL, but still pass overall. I assume the CEL is due to idle surge. I'll have to get that jumper CEL code figured out tomorrow.

Re: New EG owner
So even after cleaning my FITV and IACV, I was still idling around 1500. WTF right? Then I noticed the fresh air pipe for the valve cover was drawing a ton of air and if I capped it the idle settled. Turns the PO was some sort of idiot and replaced the PCV valce with a 90 degree piece of pipe. SO puttign in a new actual PCV valve and then resetting the Idle speed screw and I've got perfect 800 rpm idle! Yes!
I'd make a post n the tech section but I figured this all out simply by searching and I don't want to clutter up the boards, yet still have to make some posts so that I can get a verified account.
