Hello,
My name is Eliott and I bought a ex coupe about 6 months ago. The motor finally came from hmotors and I'm loving it! Atlanta Powerhouse Performance has been super helpful with the process.

Re: Member Introductions
Hey everyone! Brand spanking new to the Honda scene. I spent the past few years on the E92 BMW platform but the next few mods for my 335i are getting pricey so I'm saving and waiting. I just purchased a 97 EJ8 for $300 to daily. It's a hot mess with 220k miles but it runs (with some codes). I think restoring/rebuilding it will be fun, doesn't look like it will cost much. After I get the D16 squared away, I plan to swap it to a 5-speed manual. I look forward to all the knowledge on this forum.

Hi All,
I am glad to sign up for this forum to help others, if I can, and to get help & suggestions for mods on my 2012 Civic Si (Gen 9th).
I own 2 Hondas:
1.) I have a 2012 Honda Civic Si (mainly stock), except a Skunk2 MagaPower RR 3" catback exhaust, and Eibach front & rear sway bars.
2.) 1988 Honda CRX Si [w/ Jackson Racing supercharger 180 HP) and many mods. It has a D16A6 rebuilt w/race engine internals. All mods to CRX done by previous owner in Maryland, USA. I am not a wrench turner, unfortunately and have to pay others to fix my car, most of the time
.
In the past I have owned some decent cars - a 1988 BMW M3 (E30) stock, a 1991 Honda CRX DX (stock), a 2006 Acura RSX Type S (stock), and the two car above, which I now own. My 1988 CRX Si is Hagerty insured for $20,000.00 USD in a stated value policy.
Thank you to everyone for allowing me to be a member of te Honda-Tech forum! It is greatly appreciated!

if your going to dd it I’d say drop it tastefully but don’t slam it, if it’s going to see dirt I would lift that puppy up n throw some beefy tires with some te37s

Re: Member Introductions
I just joined this forum, as I own a '94 Del Sol and I am considering converting some of the transmission gearing for better mileage on the perfectly flat freeway that runs between my city and the one nearby. Basically I am considering taking the 4th and 5th gears out of an '86 Honda CRX HF transmission and putting them into my '94 Del Sol's transmission. I love this little convertible, and driving with the top down and earplugs in is a real joy. But I want to get better gas mileage, and I've already removed excess weight and gotten tires with lower rolling resistance.
With my current transmission I am at 4000RPM at 82MPH in 5th gear. I feel like keeping the engine at 4000 RPM for an hour and 15 min is not reasonable, and if I drive slower, everyone passes me.
Based on my calculations, a CRX HF transmission would get 3150RPM at 82MPH in 5th.
Good idea?

Hey, I'm buying a 1992 Honda Accord. It's in pristine condition and has 214,000 miles and I'm getting it for $2000. S

Hello all...
Sam (AKA SamuraiMarine) here... from Bakersfield CA.
Thought I would reup with this site and start trying to get to know some of you all while I get my Emmy (my del Sol) back up and in the game. She had some issues and I am just now getting around to fixing her up.
Look forward to conversing with y'all.

Hi,
Joe here from Salem OR. New Honda owner, 2002 Civic LX, 209k miles.
Getting the interior cleaned up & added a new stereo. I need to get it up to date with service. Has an engine ticking noise that increases with rpm's. sounds like it's coming from around the a/c or pwr steering pump. Had a timing new belt at around 150k miles.
Love the 34 mpg and would like to improve on that.

Hi "SnoJoe10",
WELCOME! Glad to see you joined Honda-Tech forum & community. Best of luck with your 2002 Civic LX. I am not an expert or a mechanic but here is what I would do:
*change oil with Amsoil Signature oil & Amsoil oil filter & Amsoil motor flush (as your engine may have a build up inside it at 209,000.00 miles) - this oil quiets down minor engine clicks & noise (assuming a lubrication issues maybe).
*adjust the valve clearance (if your valves are adjustable).
*Take it to a trusted Honda dealership or independent mechanic - just for an estimate & diagnosis - then fix on your own if you can and have tools & skills.
I wouldn't leave it (the ticking noise) too long as other damage may occur. Best of luck with your nice Civic!
Just my 2 cents as a new member.
Walter
