Just got finished bolting everything up on a y8 swap in an 89 hatchback. Converted to OBD1 by adding wires/modifying stock harness, and rewired for obd1 plugs. When i turn the key the ebrake light and the seatbelt light come on on the dash but none of the others and when i try to start it i hear one CLICK. Im checking over my grounds right now any suggestions on what to check next. Thanks.

The hasport directions are kinda wrong, is that what you used?

Check your chassis grounds.

Check that the ground on the thermostat housing has 4 wires going into a weird flat ring connector, and that the starter has a single ring terminal connector.

nah i didnt use the hasport direction i found direction from a few other places and compared, pretty sure mine are good. Anyways i ran a separate ground to the ecu and my oil pres, battery light, and CEL light came on. Checking codes worked(no IAT hooked up yet). Starter still doesnt kick over tho, no clicking noise like the battery is dead either. Just one click when i turn the key to start. Fuel pump primes now tho. I might have a problem somewhere in my harness cause my thermostat ground is hooked up.

oh ya and now i have another problem. After last post smelt some gas in engine compartment. Apparently there is a second fuel return line at the back drivers side of the y8 manifold. Where do i hook this up? I have another hose i dont know where to hook up too, it comes from a little device in the middle of the fuel rail. One hose to the intake manifold right under where the hose for the EVAP system is and the hose out i can figure out where to conect. Im guessing my two unhooked items go together but i dont want to send gas into the wrong place. Anyone with a y8 manifold help.
