Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3RD GEAR POPPING OUT (CHEFH22HATCH)
This may or may not help you. My first car was a pontiac (dont laugh) with a cable tranny and it would pop out of gear also. I found the bracket the holds the cables to the tranny was cracked. VERY minor and hard to see, but even 1/16" flex will cause the gears to pop out. I had mine welded back together and it worked great till i sold the car 2yrs later.

Check to make sure your shift linkage is properly secured to where the pin goes by the transmission part.
also make sure your rear subframe engine mount is fine, I have heard that if the engine mount is fine and while in shifting, it causes too much engine flex and can pop the car out of gear also

i had the same problem only in forth,,,,so i dont know if this will help...but anyway on mine it either was the diff going (cause it blew up) or i thought maybe it could have been that i had place racing mounts with hasport shift linkage. I know place racing places the motor away from the fire wall so i thought the linkage was stretchin. good luck

Re: (Honda Sport)
check the shifter detent ***** to see if they are there, or worn, or the spring is bad, whic hcan happen over time, this will cause the shifter to pop out of gear because the ball pushed into the shift fork detent, which hold it there, if the spring is weak, the ***** id gone, or the shoft for moves, it will pop out of gear.

also check to see of there are any hose's or anything in the way, i replaced a coolant hose that was too big and it caused 1,3 and 5th to pop out of gear beacause it was holding the slave back
