Default Would a manual hx motor work in my auto ex?

I have an automatic 99 civic ex that has a blown motor. My friend will give me his complete motor out of his manual 00 civic hx. Would his motor bolt right up to my automatic tranny without modification. Do I need an auto hx ecu or can i use mine?

Any help is appreciated
