What?? You can't use a 99-00 P2T in a 96-98 unless you do some MAJOR wiring modifications. Find yourself a 96-97 Del Sol VTEC ecu or convert to obd1 and run an obd1 P30 or a chipped p28. You'll save yourself a lot of pain doing it this way.

Your not going to want to run an obd0 ecu in a 98 civic EX. Trust me on this, an obd2 P30 (Del Sol VTEC) will plug in to the EX harness and will work 100%. You can also use a 96-98 -> OBD1 conversion harness and run an obd1 P30 which are easier to find than the DS VTEC ecu.

The two clips you are talking about are the ECU plugs I assume. Yes, 2 of the plugs will plug into the ECU, but without major rewiring or an ECU adapter harness it will not work. You'll need to get an OBD2 (96-98) to OBD2.5 (99-00) ECU adapter harness.
