Wiring Question - 00' Hatch with 01' GSR motor
Sorry if i'm beating a dead horse here. I did a search but i couldn't find anything that answered all of my questions. The only question i have is if the 01' gsr motor is obd2.
Also, would an EX or Si wire harness be pretty much plug and play? Or should i just stick with the DX harness and rewire? I'm missing the second part of the GSR harness. The portion that goes through the fire wall and into the ecu. So i'm looking for a different route as far as that goes. Without having to purchase that other portion of the harness.
Thanks for any help or info.

Yea, im almost sure its a obd2 motor. I think with the gsr's, any of them newer than like 96'ish is odb2.
Im having a similar problem putting a gsr motor in my 00' Si. The wiring harness wont go on without modifying it.

Yes, the '01 GSR motor is OBD2b.
As for the EX/Si harness, it is plug and play, however you still need to wire up VTEC, IAB (if you do the GSR motor) from the shock tower to the ECU.
You may also stick with the DX engine engine and simply adapt that, and adding the additional sensors.
As for the "portion that goes through the firewall to the ECU" that is the main harness that goes to the shock tower and links to the engine harness. You will keep the DX one and add necessary wires (VTEC, IAB, etc.).

Re: Wiring Question - 00' Hatch with 01' GSR motor (poison)
You will be much better off using a 99-00 Si harness then the stock DX harness.
I have a 2000 EK with 2001 GSR engine.
I used the 99-00 Si wireharness, and 2001 gsr ecu.
You will have to extend a few wires, change the IAT plug, and wire up the IABs but other then that it is plug and play.
You can't use the GSR harness.

also ..
If you plan to use the 01 GSR ecu with your 00 EK, you'll have to have the immobilizer removed & swap pin A16 to A15 at the ecu plug, whether you use an Si/EX harness or your DX harness. All 99-01 US integra ecu's use a different pinout location for the fuel pump relay and moving pin A16 to A15 on a 99-00 civic harness is required to comply or else the car will not start. This is all because of the immobilizer unit that honda put in all 99-01/obd2b integra ecu's.
