Wiring Gurus: JDM B18C into a 93 si...questions about the IAB
The engine is a OBD-1 JDM GS-R
Car is a 93 honda civic si
ECU is JDM P72:
Since the JDM motor is right hand drive and the wires on all on the wrong side, I opted to take the wiring harness of the SI and install that on the JDM GSR. Everything has gone fine.
I am trying to verify which connector is for the IAB coming from the SI wiring harness. Right now I have plugged into the IAB a connector with RED & YEL/BLK wires.
According to the Mitchell wiring Diagram, the RED & YEL/BLK on a SI wiring harness connects to the Purge Control Solenoid on the civic. Also there is a connector that contains GRN/BLK & YEL wires. According to the mitchell diagram, these two wires are run to the LOCKUP CONTROL SOLENOID VALVES on a the civic
The GRN/BLK & YEL wires occupy A17 and A18 on the wiring harness respectively
The YEL/BLK occupies A20 on the harness.
Remember I am using the SI wiring harness so I am assuming this is the correct connector for the IAB. I am going to switch A17 to A20 and vice versa.
Now the big questions is, do I have this right? I have search and found alot of great info regarding the IAB, but nothing really concrete on this set of a JDM GSR using a civic wiring harness. Assuming that is the correct connection, are there any other wires that I need to add?
Thats alot to read so thank you if you read it

by switch the A17 to A20 and vice versa. that should do it. did you run the knock sensor to the ecu? Most people run it straight to the ecu. I recommend you get rid of the jdm ecu because of it's shitty program and speed governor (119 mph I think). use the usdm p72 instead.

yea it isnt my swap I am doing it for this kid so its up to him to use the JDM or USDM . Also, I ran a wire from the knock sensor directly to D3 on the harness. I dont have to wire the IAB to a 12volt switch or whatever do I. I been reading alot of conflicting reports about this. Thanks

After switch pin A20 to A17, do I have to run the other wire from the connector on the IAB to a 12v switched source? Because right now the car wont rev past 4k? Perhaps I didnt wire it up correctly??

Yea I figured it wouldnt. I am also throwing code 14 for the IAC. Could this code cause limp mode by it self?

ok this is what I pulled up from Poison's past posts:
for an obd1 gsr motor/harness (regardless of the obd your are wiring up), the red/blue wire goes to the pin-out A17 and the other wire goes to a 12V source. which can be spliced in to the A25 or B1 (sensor voltage) wire.
for obd2 gsr motor/harness, the red/blue wire goes to a20 and the other wire goes to ground.
hopes that helps man
