Default wire question for swapping a b16sirII into a 93 civic ex

i have a green plug near the distributor left with no where to plug it on the new jdm motor what should i do with this plug. do i need to wire these up.

if you are using the ex harness..that should plug into your vtec solinoid.

the jdm motor dosen't have the solonoid on it i was wondering if i needed it or not because i am using a jdm p30 ecu

sorry i have a solenoid but there is no vtec pressure switch on my b16 i don't know what to do with the green plug that goes to that pressure switch

Ok, it sounds like you have a JDM OBD2 B16A engine which do not come equipped with a VTPS.

You have 2 options.

(1) easiest choice. Splice the VTPS wire with your VT solenoid wire at the ecu plug. That means splice D6 to A4, and VTEC should work and no codes for VTEC will be thrown by the ecu. If you do get a VTEC code, you might need to ground the VTPS ground wire.

(2) find any US B-series VTEC solenoid and apply it to your engine.

no, just get a sir2 solinoid and plug it in.

sorry man i'm getting tired i meant can i use the vtec pressure switch from my d16z6 on the sir2 i heard you can use a sohc one on a dohc

actually, yes you can use a SOHC VT solenoid on a b-series VTEC engine, as long as the solenoid is from a 92-95 D16Z6 engine which you have. The thing is, the VTPS plug will be pointing towards the front of the car rather than towards the passenger side of the car ( which shouldn't be an issue ), but you *might* need to extend the VTPS wires.
