Will OBD2 gsr harness work with JDM ITR motor?
Will OBD2 gsr harness work with JDM ITR motor? Is it plug and play or do I need to make any modifications?

It should plug up fine, you will have an extra plug for the Crank Fluctuation sensor tho. Just take your time and lay it all out.

No I'm sorry. That harness will not plug into your 87 Cadillac. If only you had a 92-95 civic or 93+ Del sol. Then it would plug & play. You would only have to extend two plugs (IAC valve & temp sensor) & bypass the VTEC pressure switch (since the JDM motor doesn't have one). You will also have to rewire the IAB to operate the USDM EVAP purge control solenoid from your D-series motor...

Obviously I was being a smart ***. It was a failed attempt at showing you what happens when you leave important information like THE F'ING CAR out of your question. That is a very important part of the equation since the other half of said harness must connect to it as well. Your answer then relys on people making assumptions about your setup w/ leads you to getting false information & you not even knowing it...

Ahhhhhhhh...
Well, yes the OBD-2 harness will connect to your car. You will have extra plugs for the following:
- 2-pin Crank flux sensor (not on JDM ITR motors)
- 2-pin IAB (not on ITR motors)
- 3-pin Passengers side shock tower (OBD-2 crank flux wires & OBD-2 EVAP wire)
- 2-pin OBD-2 EVAP purge control solenoid
- 2-pin VTEC oil-pressure switch (not on JDM motors)
For a USDM ECU, You will have to bypass the VTEC oil-pressure switch by wiring the pressure switch positive to the VTEC solenoid wire. Or you can have your ECU chipping person bypass it inside the ECU (I recommend Kenji).
You will also have to properly wire up your original OBD-1 EVAP purge control solenoid for emissions purposes. It requires a different plug than the one on the OBD-2 harness. Make sure you get it wired like the OBD-1 wiring diagrams show...
Plugs you will have to extend (I just clipped the ones off my JDM Type R harness & soldered them to the GSR harness):
- 2-pin IAC valve (IAC is on the bottom of the GSR manifold)
- 2-pin Temp Sensor (it's just too short for some reason)

Re: Will OBD2 gsr harness work with JDM ITR motor? (krayjeegsr)
Not a good idea. The JDM itr ECU is OBD-2, so you will need to buy an adapter harness. Also the JDM ECU has a speed limiter...
For the same price as the adaptor harness, you can just get your OBD-1 P72 ECU chipped by Kenji to run the ITR motor. Then sell the ITR ECU to make up the difference...
Also, you would still have to modify your GSR engine harness the way I said anyways...
