SO what if you have a obd2 harness running an obd2 dizzy on an obd1 computer....what about THAT....I figure the only thing I can do to keep from wiring myself to death is to get a obd1 harness...true?

it will work.
OBD1 & OBD2 electronics, as far as the distributor & ecu's go, are forward & backwards compatible.

So what components are not compatible?
I'm assembling a GSR head to put on my B20z and I have already bought an obd1 p72 ecu and 1998 GSR head (minus the dist, IM, and TB)
1.) From what you said, I would be okay with either and OBD1 or OBD2 distributor from a GSR?
2.) What about the TB and IM? I assume that these are not interchangeable between OBD versions and that I would need an OBD1 GSR TB and IM to match up to my obd1 ecu?

A B-series Vtec (OBD1/2) will bolt right on. If your car is OBD1 (the harness) and you buy a OBD2 dizzy, you will have to rewire it to run the OBD1 style pulgs (and the other way around). You can use a LS dizzy (OBD1/2), but you have to cut one of the legs off.

Yes, they are. You may have to do some rewiring (it matters what car/harness you have), but the major sensor will work (map, tps, etc. Not IACV, it ranges the year, car, OBD, trim).
