Will a code 6 stop my radiator fan from coming on?
What's up guys? Got a quick question for you. Yesterday was the first time I started up my hatch after my swap. (b18c6 in a 92vx) I started it up so that I could let the car run so that the thermostat would open and the new coolant would get in to the engine. After about 10 minutes of letting the car idle I was wondering why the radiator fan never turned on, plus the engine temp. was climbing, I also got a code 6 (engine coolant tempreture sensor). I know that there are two ECT sensors one by the distributor and one on the theromstat housing. I check the wiring harness and everything look good. I ordered the sensors from honda and they will be in shortly. My question is will the code cause the radiator fan to Not come on? Not so much the code but the faulty sensor? Thanks for the helps guys I want to get this thing on the road.

yes it will... just sounds like u have a faulty sensor... had the same problem in my 92 dx hatch... also, make sure that u have enough coolant and that ur hoses are not leaking... that will also cause ur fan not to come on

check your harness ground. grounds that are on your harness.. make sure it's screw on your engine or chasis.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think that it has to be the sensor itself because the harness is grounded on the thermostat housing and the radiator houses are brand new. Thanks agian

we did a 94 accord swap a h22a, and our fan didn't work we later found out it was the harness ground.. (it's a piece of square plastict with alot of wire going to it then it is bolted onto your chasis.. there should be 2 of them one on each side of the engine bay) i would check: turn on your AC if your fan doesn't work then look for that harness ground ..Our second swap h22a to 90 accord went a little smoother...
..... let us know what you find out.. : :

The only ground that I can find is the one that goes to the thermostat housing, which is alrady grounded. Also my car does not have AC. I'll keep you posted the next day i'll be able to work on it is wed.
