Why can't I use the OBD2 GSR ECU w/ my Eg?
My motor came in today for my 93 Cx. It's a 98 GSR (USDM) and I just want to verify that I can not use this ECU with my Eg, right? If someone has time please explain why not? ..and if I remember correctly I need the ECU out of an OBD1 GSR for my Eg and this OBD2 motor.
Just want to make sure I buy the right parts and do everything right.

Cause your car is OBD1... I think you might be able to get a harness that converts that obd2 ecu to obd1 for like $150.

wont plug into the car.
obd1 and ond2 have different plugs/harnesses on the ecu and chassis,
they will not mix'n'match.

definitely. u can use OBDII but it probly isnt worth the cost of a conversion harness. especially considering the tuning advantage of OBDI

if your retaining stock intake manifold then obd1 p72 is a must
if your going skunk2 or any other single runner manifold then just chip a p28
