who has a aftermarket oil pan (moroso)
Anyone here uses a aftermarket oil pan? Moroso in particular. What advantages do you see if dyno'ed. ANyone with a Spoon or Mugen? I know they are stock oil pans with slight modifications... but so you see any visual differences as well as performance? Which would you recommmend for a LS/VTEC cuz mine is cracked. And how much did you pay? Wheres the best deals?

If the spoon and mugen oil pans are just modified stock units, does anyone know what it modified? I examined the bullshit out of both a 90 B18a, and a 95+ 2nd gen B16a oilpan. Not a single difference i could tell. I'm interested in finding out exactly what spoon modifies...

what kind of improvement do modified pans net? i'm assuming windage is reduced, but are there any real world gains? are they worth the money?

I would have to disagree with the buying a name statement.
the point of these aftermarket oil pans is not to make HP, but to keep oil around the pick up, they have modified baffles to keep the oil in the pan from sloshing under severe cornering, acceleration and decceleration. I seriously doubt you would see any difference on a dyno.
Also, I believe the moroso pan holds more oil than a stock pan, but I am not sure.

I know you will see a difference on the dyno, but it wont be much and you'll only see it if your motor has been fully modified. Stock motors with bolt ons wont benefit and even some motors with engine work might not see a difference depending on the mods. but anyways.... I need one. Spoon? Moroso? Mugen?
