Where to buy LT1 or LS1?
I know they are not honda motors but im looking to do the V8 swap into my RX-7 i just bought. Does anybody know where i can pick one up local in so cal? Maybe somebody here can help me out...if not thanks for looking.

yeah...mostly a bunch of people selling there moded LS motors for way more than im looking to spend.Car-Part.com is the best place ive found, you can find pullouts from wrecked cars. Just seeing if anyone knew of any other places.

http://www.ls1tech.com has a good classified section, and there are several people on there with rx7 swaps than can give you information.

Alright i found a 96 5.7 liter V8 out of a chevy caprice for 1600$ a few miles from me i think im going to pick up. Its weird to think that i can pick that size motor up for that price, when b16's can be found for that price.

I don't know the actual code, but it is an LT1-based gen II with iron heads rated at 260hp/330tq.

330 pounds of torque should be enough to get that rx7 moving. The rotary in it now feels like my grandmother and her walker fully equipped with tennis ***** move quicker.

Oh, it should be plenty, but just throwing on some used aluminum corvette heads and long tube headers will really wake it up. Maybe throw a cam in there too.
That's the great thing about american iron, upgrades are usually cheaper than for imports and tend to do more.

Plus im sure that much power going to the Rear wheels will feel like night and day compared to my ls-vtec integra.
