where to buy ecu pins?
well, i went to the honda dealership in an attempt to purchase ECU pins but they said they cant sell them to me. i talked to the head tech, who explained that they dont sell them, but they have the repair kits in the back which have tons of different pins. i told him the swap i had, and what ECU and everything, and i said i'd give him whatever he wanted for a few of them, but he just kept saying that he couldnt sell em......WHAT A DOUCHEBAG! i need the pins to wire up my knock sensor and vtec on my b16a. anyone know of a place where i can purchase pins for a PR3 ecu? the swap is in an 89' civic SI hatch. the car is currently not driveable, but i'm trying to wrap up a few loose ends on the wiring. a friend of mine said there might be extra pins on my harness i can use, but i dont have the removal tool even if i did know which ones to pull.......any ideas?
p.s. tried to search this earlier, but the search engine was down......again

if you expect to pull that off in my town then you better be the invisible man, cuz around here, they dont let anyone get near the salvage lots without an employee to escort them around the lot. i remember the days where anything that could fit in your pocket was free, but not anymore......not around here.

as i already mentioned, the ones around here are like fort knox, so if you wish to steal then you'll be doing it with an employee 2 feet away watching your every step. i'd much rather pay five bucks for what i need and have it shipped to my doorstep. logically it would cost me MORE money and time to steal from a junkyard. even if i drove to the nearest salvage yard, i'd still spend more money in gas than i would spend buying the parts online. so instead of wasting time and gas money illegally stealing parts, i'll order them from hondapartshero and thouroughly enjoy sitting on my lazy *** till they get here.

Re: (runeminaEF9)
its not really stealing. At the "Pick-N-Pull" yards around here you will never beable to find a whole wiring harness cuz everyone has wripped it to pieces taking the wiring connected to the parts, so wiring is pretty much worthless. I would never pay for wiring unless it were complete. So usually i go there to buy some parts and i score some spare wiring and some nuts and bolts and other odds and ends.

Re: (MrMike)
taking ANYTHING from a yard around here without paying is like stealing. no matter if its a 200 part you're taking, or a lugnut, they still consider it stealing.......thats why the gates to the salvage lots are locked at all times and the only way to gain entrance to the cars is to wait for an employee to escort you around the lot.......right by your side the whole time. even if you asked to take some cheap wiring or worthless crap that they couldnt sell, they will still try to crack your head for it. they would rather see a worthless part rot on a car than give it away for free......i know you guys are trying to help, but its pointless to keep suggesting that i jack parts from the junkyard cuz i've already mentioned i'd probly get caught in the process ,and it would cost me more money in gas to get there than it would just to buy the crap online. and on top of that...theres no "pick-n-pull" yards anywhere NEAR here, hence the reason why i cant get what i need by myself.

Re: (A L I A S)
yeah, this particular honda dealership has turned a blind eye to me quite a few times in the past when i was looking for swap parts.......theres something about the words "acura" and "motor swap" that the honda parts guys dont like too much. its funny.....they dont give a damn about helping me out, but the second i walk out that parts department and hit the sales floor, i've got sales associates all over my *** like stink on $hi+ tryin to sell me a car

Ever thought of about just going to a computer parts store? they have pins for the ecu. that's where I go if the junkyard is too much of a hassle or don't have it.
