Whats the best H22a Civic suspension setup?
I am at the beginning of my H22a swap into my 95 Civic HB and I am trying to get an idea of what the best shock/spring setup to run for a daily driver with the occasional AutoX. I have an Illumina/Ground Control setup now, but was told that the increased weight in the front called for Integra rate springs (Any truth to that?) I would like at least a two inch drop.

I'm currently using Tokico Illumina and Suspension Techniques Springs. It's lowered approximately 1.3 - 1.5". I would not drop it too much because the H22A hangs lower and you will hit your header a lot. Also, the lower you go, the more axle problems you will have.
I believe the key to a good setup is some adjustable shocks, decent 1.0 - 1.5" drop, integra spring rates, and as far as handling is concerned, LSD does wonder. I'm using a stock H22A LSD Transmission, and it's wonderful.

Re: Whats the best H22a Civic suspension setup? (All-Motor H22A)
I dont want to change the post, but i'm curious what your motor setup is that put you into the 13's. What motor mounts and axles are you using? I have HCP mounts and Raxle Hybrid axles (is this setup any good?). Thanks for the help.

I have Tokico Illuminas and Neuspeed Race springs. Drop it about 2.5" and it looks great. Watch the speed bumps. Crank the shocks up in the rear and throw on a traction bar and you'll see some killer 60 fts.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but Raxles.com is garbage. i bought some axles form them a while back and 2 axles in 2 weeks broke! They were twisting off of the splines! So that meant that I had to pull both sides out and from the opposite side had to pop out the broken piece. Not once but twice, talk about a pain in the ***!! Anyway, I will post the pics of the **** *** axles in a bit, but my web host is down right now! Oh ya the entire time I had the axles they were binding!

Damn, I had no idea that they were crap! So if Raxle is so shitty then what do you recommend? I thought that it would be better to buy an aftermarket axles that was designed to be able to take the abuse of the motor...I guess I was wrong. Any suggestions???

I used 90-93 accord int. shaft, and 90-93 teg axles and stayed with those into the low 12's before I started having a lot of problems. For a few bucks more than what the raxles **** costs you could get DSS axles.

Really? I have Raxles.com axles as my spares right now. You would seriously tell me to sell them? I'm just curious.
I'm using custom mounts and custom axles. My swap is old school. The thing that got me into 13s is the LSD and decent driving.

Re: Whats the best H22a Civic suspension setup? (All-Motor H22A)
Has anyone else had problems with Raxle.com hybrid axles? More knowledge about these would be helpful, before I sell these axles and get the 90-93 Teg axles. I just want to make sure that one person’s bad experience is a design flaw or fluke.

Depending on what mount kit you're using, save yourself some money and get stock replacement axles (like from Kragens/PepBoys or where ever that likes to offer a "lifetime" warranty) and go along with this info here of what setup to use: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=434668

Ya I would scrap them, I paid bank for axles that were crap, and was stuck. Newman is correct that if you use stock replacement axles you can get them anywhere, and there is little to no down time!
