My starter on my JDM b16 is dead. I have a 99 Si and I pulled the starter to see if it would fit the JDM motor but they are different. I found a pic of a 94 del sol vtec and it looks the same as the 99 Si. What should I use?

i thought all b series starters where the same??...i know that a first gen b16 starter works on my 2000 gsr motor

The JDM starter is on the left.

are they both the same brand of starter tho? honda used 2 diffrent brands

The Jdm is denso and the usdm Si one is mitsuba. People keep saying all the B-series starters are compatible. Im looking at the part of the starter that inserts into the tranny- look how different they are. Will the Si one with the rod sticking out fit? I tried to put it in and it didn't seem to lock in correctly.

OK I found a 94GSR starter and it doesn't have the rod and looks similiar to the JDM b16 one......

it will still work, the soilenoid gear just looks diffrent because its 2 diffrent brands of starter.

Yep I used my Si starter and the car starts just fine.
