I just tried to put the HG on the head to see how it lines up, and it doesnt even appear close. I assume you have to make oil port holes in the gasket, do you also have to make the dowel pin holes larger?? I was told this would work without much problem. Am I missing something?

OK so I dremeled out the 2 dowel pins and it fits nice and snug. however, some of the holes around the outside of the head are REALLY close to the edge of the gasket in some spots. Im assuming those holes are either for oil or coolant flow (I dont know if all the holes on the head are used to flow liquid or just there to save weight or for casting purposes). Anyway, if I dremel the holes much larger on the gasket, there wont be much material left on the gasket edge. Also, some of the coolant holes around each cylinder are half covered by the gasket. I dont have a regular B16/ITR gasket to compare to, so Im not sure how it all lines up normally.

The b20 is designed for a 84mm bore. The ITR is an 81mm bore.

last one i did had no modification required, just put in on after drilling the head with a 14mm drill for dowels.
it has run for several months so far with an idiot driver and no issues.
